Clean up the underworld in the new Zelda-style game, Crypt Custodian

For quite some time now we have been hearing about the new work of veteran developer Kyle Thompson —responsible for titles such as Sheepo, Islets— and we finally know the date when we will be able to play it. The publisher Top Hat Studios announced the release date of Crypt Custodian

the new style game Zelda in which we will control a cat who has the thankless mission of, broom in hand, cleaning the underworld.

The protagonist of this adventure is Pluto. After his death, this black cat arrived in the underworld and had a catastrophic encounter with Kendra, guardian of the afterlife. She condemns him to sweep the underworld and keep it clean forever.

The game has been described as “a top-down MetroVania,” which is odd since that’s basically the description of a MetroVania-style adventure game. Zelda

. It looks like it will have a strong focus on the story and the characters that Pluto will meet during this adventure in the afterlife.

We now know the release date for Crypt Custodian, the new Zelda-style game from the creator of Islets.
