One of the best PS5-exclusive platforms of the year, Astrobotis also a source of iconic cameos from the Sony universe. Between games distributed by the company and others from popular franchises that have appeared on PlayStation consoles. More than 150 cameos can be found in Astrobotalthough some of them were discarded from the final version.
Now, in a new video from VGC Showing the making of the game, Team Asobi has shown off a piece of concept art that appears to feature at least two characters that didn’t make it into the final game. The cameo concept art references Sweet Tooth from the franchise Twisted Metal already Fat Princess of the franchise Fat Princess. None of these appear on the list of more than 150 salvageable cameos in Astrobot.
These may appear in the next DLC of Astrobotwhich will include more challenge and speedrun levels. But currently, neither character appears in the game. While a few notable third-party characters associated with PlayStation are missing from the full cameo list, these two are from Sony-owned IPs, making their exclusion a little more strange. Fat Princess hasn’t had a new game in some time, while Twisted Metal had a decent streaming series in 2023.
