game history
The beautiful land of Azuma – a fantasy world inspired by feudal Japan – is threatened by kemono, gigantic beasts that possess the power of nature. Only Beast Hunters, warriors wielding powerful weapons and ancient Karakuri technology, have the ability to take on them.
At the moment, we do not know anything more about the history of Wild Hearts no details about the plot of this game. However, we did notice that some of the monsters we are going to hunt, the kemono, are clearly inspired by the ‘yokai’, mythological creatures from Japan.
Kemono: the giant monsters of Wild Hearts
The ‘kemono‘ is a genre of classical Japanese art that depicted animals in an anthropomorphic way, so it’s quite an apt name for the monsters we face in the game.
Next you will see a list with all the monsters or ‘kemono’ that we will face in Wild Hearts
You can also see some of these creatures in action in the following video:
The karakuri, our hunting tools
During the hunts in Wild Hearts we can use devices called karakuri. These allow us to place traps, respond to attacks and deal large amounts of damage to the kemono. In addition, they also allow us to collect resources, make fast trips on the maps and more. To create them, we need to collect materials.
You can see the karakuri in action in the following video:
Some of the karakuri that we will find in the game are the following:
These karakuri can be of three types:
- basics: help to explore hunting areas and fight against kemono.
- Fusion: offer protection or damage increase.
- Dragon– Extremely powerful weapons and gadgets with special features, but require more materials.
