It seems like yesterday we last celebrated the main Liyue festival, but the Lantern Rite is coming up again to welcome the lunar new year. That’s not all, because more adventures await us in Sumeru, the arrival of more characters and many events. We are going to know everything revealed about the update to version 3.4 of Genshin Impact: when it arrives, what is its new content, characters, new region, costumes and codes with gift Protogems.

Let’s start with what we already knew. The characters that will join Genshin Impact after the update to version 3.4 will be Yaoyao y Alhacen (Alhaitham in other versions). You can click on their names to visit our guides to the best weapons, equipment, and ascension materials for each of them.
When does the update patch to version 3.4 of Genshin Impact?
The arrival date of version 3.4 will be the Wednesday, January 18, 2023
This version will end on February 28, 2023.
gachapones
Yaoyao and Alhacén will be part of the first wave of promotional gachapones for this version. They will also be accompanied by the return of the demon hunter Xiao ‘banner’. They will be accompanied by a gachapón of weapons in which we can win the light sword glowing chlorophyll.
Once these gachapones finish on February 8, 2023, there will be a second wave in which the banners of Hu Tao and Yelan.
These will be available until the end of version 3.4 on February 28, 2023.
New region in update 3.4 of Genshin Impact: Hadramavet desert
To differentiate itself from the rest of the Sumeru desert, this new area is defined by the huge tornado that crowns it and gives this scene a characteristic swirl shape.
In the past, this desert was a lush forest and we found clues to that in its caverns. We can also unearth the ancient city that lives under the sands and that is the key to finding the objective of the new story: the eternal oasis.
New Boss: Sand Worms (Setekh Wenut)
clearly inspired by therethe worms that live under the sands of the Hadramavet Desert are the new boss of the update 3.4 of Genshin Impact. Other enemies in this area will be flying creatures called Sacred Beasts and new members of the Hermits: the Hermitage Sandwhisper and the Hermit Danzacrobata.
New Lantern Rite events in Liyue and other regions
During the new Lantern Rite, in which characters from other regions—such as Venti himself—will visit Liyue to participate in a music festival. During this we will participate in events such as the following:
- paper theater: we must solve puzzles arranging parts of the setting to tell a story.
- Flaming Jump: parkour racing event in which we must collect coins. It will also have challenges with the Breakwater and can be played in multiplayer.
- combat challenge: You know, to defeat monsters during the Lantern Rite.
As a Chinese New Year gift, we can select one of the 4-star characters in the region to invite our team. Among these is included the new Yaoyao.
Now let’s look at the activities that will take place in other regions:
- The Sublime and Glorious Great Arataki Devil Scare Tournament: In this tournament organized by Itto we will use a scared devil in a kind of fighting minigame in which we will have to choose the best moments to charge against the opponent and thus be able to win.
- the spirit of the warrior: In this combat tournament organized by the Yashiro commission we will not be able to use elemental or ultimate abilities. Here we will also know the new wardrobe of Kamisato Ayaka.
- rose flowering: a series of combat challenges in which we can get Lisa’s new wardrobe.
New changing rooms of the update 3.4 of Genshin Impact
Ayaka will wear her Fontaine-inspired travel wardrobe during the Yashiro Commission combat tournament, but to obtain it we will have to buy it in the store. On her part, Lisa’s ‘Veiled Identity’ costume, inspired by Sumeru, can be unlocked by playing the Rosacea Rebloom event.
