In mid-2022, Player First Games released a free-to-play ‘platform brawler’ game in the style Super Smash Bros which quickly became a phenomenon, even winning the award for best fighting game at The Game Awards that year.. Player First Games and Warner Bros Games announced that the game will return to stores on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. It will still be free and should respect the purchases and progress that players had made in the initial version.

Although Hyunh confirmed that there will be new characters, they did not say what they will be.
What changes will this new version of Multiversus

- They changed the game engine Unreal Engine 5which should allow for better graphics and animations.
- They changed the ‘netcode’ to allow more fluid fights with less ‘lag’. We can confirm that Multiversus will use ‘rollback’which is the type of ‘netcode’ preferred by fighting game players.
- All characters will have new attacks and mechanics.
- New scenarios. We can recognize two new ones inspired by Dexter’s Laboratory y The Powerpuff Girls.
- New PvE game mode with new rewards.
Although fans of the game seem excited, there are others who are expressing their concerns. In recent months, Warner Bros. Games has made statements that have not gone down very well with the community, revealing that they will leave aside the great games for consoles, filling Mortal Kombat 1 of microtransactions y unlisting Adult Swim games. We hope they make less use of this title.
