Despelote is a first-person football 'slice of life' game that will be available for Switch along with its previously announced versions for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PC (Steam). Distributor Panic and developers Julián Cordero and Sebastian Valbuena will release this title in early 2025. The way it represents children playing with soccer balls in the street could not be more Latin American than its neighbors.

This is the description of the game according to Panic.

«Despelote It's a soccer game about people. Immerse yourself in the streets and parks of Quito through the eyes and ears of Julián, an eight-year-old boy. Dribble, pass and shoot your soccer ball around town and see what happens when you kick it in someone's direction. Feel the city change as Ecuador gets closer than ever to qualifying for the World Cup.”

A bittersweet and sometimes dreamlike semi-autobiographical story about youth. Explore a dense urban space at your own pace, full of activities, interactions and mischief to do. A physics-based soccer ball that feels like you kick it in a first-person perspective. A vibrant world full of characters having fun and genuine conversations. Despelote uses photographs and audio recorded in Ecuador to create a strong and more accurate feeling of the place.

We love to publicize these types of proposals from sister countries with such a Latin theme. So we will be very attentive when Despelote release in 2025 for all the platforms mentioned.
