This popular soccer game has received fair criticism for treating women’s teams as an afterthought, but things seem to be changing for the better. EA Sports announced that FIFA 23 very soon it will receive new leagues and teams for women’s soccer: the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) and the United States National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
When do these women’s soccer leagues and teams arrive in FIFA 23?
We will be able to play with them after an update that will be available on Wednesday March 15, 2023
Let’s see what are the options that we will have at our disposal.
UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL)
We will be able to play Kick-Off modes, Tournament Mode, Head-to-Head and Co-op Seasons, and Online Friendly matches with 12 NWSL teams. It is not just about the teams, as we will also have stadiums, kits, scanned players, trophies and celebrations specific to this league.
To the eight women’s teams from the Champions League already present at FIFA 23 the following will be added.
- Real Madrid C.F.
- VfL Wolfsburg
- Juventus
- Eintracht Frankfurt
United States National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL)
You can watch a trailer announcing the introduction of this league below.
NWSL teams can participate in Kickoff, Tournament Mode, Online Head-to-Head and Co-op Seasons and Online Friendly matches. To get the full broadcast experience, both teams facing each other in a match must be in the league.
We applaud the addition of these new women’s soccer leagues and women’s teams to FIFA 23. Now we have to ask, when will the women’s teams in Colombia?
