Gearbox Software recently ended its conference with few announcements. The public expected a new Borderlands or a new IP, but had to settle for just half an hour of presentation that mostly took up the movie of Borderlands. That does not mean that Gearbox talked about other things at E3 2021, as there were mentions for Godfall, Tribes of Midgard e, inclusive, Homeworld 3.
Here’s a summary of the Gearbox Software announcements at E3 2021:
Borderlands movie is in production
Much of the Gearbox presentation at E3 2021 was dedicated to talking to Eli Roth, the director of the movie from Borderlands. He took the opportunity to remember the composition of the cast, which is made up of actors like Jack Black, who will voice ClapTrap; Kevin Hart, who will play Roland; and Cate Blanchett, who will be Lilith.
Beyond that, it was only confirmed that the film is already in production.
Homeworld 3 is in development
You don’t have to get too excited, at least for now. The only thing that was mentioned at the Gearbox conference at E3 2021 about Homeworld 3 is that it is officially in development. Apart from this, only fun facts about this renowned RTS franchise were shared.
No release date was even mentioned. At least it is known that it will not be a prequel or a remastering, but Homeworld 3 it will be a whole new game.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands had already been revealed two days ago during the Summer Game Fest 2021. Therefore, it did not turn out to be any surprise, although it ended up attracting attention for being a ‘looter shooter’ like Borderlands but with magic.
There was no new information, so the public is left with only the data that it will arrive at the beginning of 2022.
Gearbox en E3 2021: Tribes of Midgard
It was known of the existence of Tribes of Midgard, an action survival RPG game based on Norse mythology. In recent days there had already been talk about its gameplay based mainly on cooperative combat with up to eight classes, collecting resources and building a tribe.
As additional information at E3 2021, Gearbox revealed that Tribes of Midgard will be released for PS5, PS4 and Steam on July 27.
Gearbox at E3 2021: Godfall news
Gearbox didn’t leave E3 2021 without mentioning Godfall. Until now the title was available only for PS5 and PC, but that will change soon. The reason is that a version for PS4 will arrive on August 10.
On the other hand, a new expansion called Fire & Darkness. This one will bring new cosmetics, as well as new enemies and equipment. Also, a free update called Lightbringer will arrive that same day.
