But first we must explain why it is worth embarking on the search for the necessary meat for these recipes.
What are the recipes of the Duque’s kitchen good for?
Although the game explains the purpose of this system quite clearly, it is likely that in our quest to rescue Ethan’s daughter we would not have paid much attention to it. After all, it is completely optional.
However, the recipes that the Duke cooks with fish, chicken and beast meat provide us with quite useful advantages when it comes to playing Resident Evil Village. Next we are going to present each of the recipes and explain what they are for.

Tips for hunting and handling ingredients
- The Duke’s Kitchen will be available for the first time after defeating Lady Dimitrescu. Don’t worry if you can’t find the menu before then.
- The ingredients take up space in the inventory, but it is possible to give them to the Duke even if we do not have the necessary quantity to complete the recipe. This is very useful to save space.
- It is possible to sell the ingredients for money. Although in the game we can find more quantities of meat than we need for the recipes, it is not much and we do not recommend selling them until you have prepared them all.
- There is only one of each ingredient marked in bold: juicy poultry, quality meat and premium fish. Don’t sell them!
- Some ingredients are in areas that cannot be returned to. Get the meat as soon as you can.
- It’s a good idea to “hunt” chickens and fish with your knife to save ammo. However, the sheep and pigs that give us beast meat can be quite aggressive. Better play it safe and take a shotgun or two to their heads.
- It is not enough to kill the animal, we must approach and collect the meat from its corpse.
- All the meat that we have in the inventory or that we have given to the Duke will be preserved in the following games of New Game +.
Where to find fish meat in Resident Evil Village?
- In a pond when leaving Dimitrescu Castle. It is not possible to return to this area afterwards.
- When trying to return to Dimitrescu Castle by the main road from the village. The bridge will be up, but we can find fish in the pond to your left.
- After using the boat in the Moreau reserve we will find a green plastic tent. To his right is hidden an entrance to a cave with fish inside. It is not possible to enter this cave if we enter the tent first.
- After defeating Moreau, we can return to the area where we first encountered the boat. Thanks to the water being drained, we can follow the path around the mill to find a pond with a rather elusive fish (you won’t see it at first glance, it likes to hide) and the treasure chest they saw the first time they passed by. there.
- Returning to the village after defeating Moreau, we can return to the bridge that is located to the west of the village. Instead of continuing to the altar, we turn right before crossing it and use the crank to access a boat. With it, we can sail south until we find a place to disembark. Next to it there will be a pond with fish and the rare “ghost fish.”
- Before following the route indicated by Heisenberg from the village towards the fortress, we can turn off towards Otto’s mill taking the hidden path to the left of the ‘good luck’ sign. After defeating the boss inside, we can find several pieces of meat, including fish.
Where to find chicken meat in Resident Evil Village?
- After returning from Dimitrescu Castle to the village, we must look for a house with a red fireplace south of Maiden Square. To get there we must climb to the roof using a ladder. Going down on the other side we will find a couple of chickens.
- With the Insignia Key that we get in the Dimitrescu Castle we can access a small cemetery behind the church. There are more chickens there.
- We can find more chickens by turning to the right of the road towards Luiza’s house, in a small alley.
- When leaving the control room of the dam in the south of the map we can find more chickens behind a stranded truck. It is not possible to return to this area later.
- After defeating Moreau, we can use the crank to open a door in the old town east of the town, behind which more chickens are hiding.

Where to find beast meat in Resident Evil Village
?
- There is a pig in a house south of the old western part of the village. It is the last house in the village before the road to the outskirts.
- After escaping from Casa Beneviento, we can find a goat in the house on the left of the path, near the chest that has the ball for the maze in the area.
- A couple of pigs meet on the way to the Moreau dam, just before entering the first mill.
- Two more rams appear in the village cemetery after defeating Moreau.

Where is the juicy (rare) bird?
We can find this beautiful blue bird in the town cemetery. It is found on a tree branch to the right of a crypt. We have to shoot him in order to collect his meat.
Where is the quality meat (rare beast)?
After returning from Dimitrescu Castle, this albino pig will appear in the courtyard of the house where Elena and her father were hiding at the beginning of the game. It is the same patio from which we access Luiza’s house.
