The Ad of Death Stranding 2 is not the only news that we learned this year about Hideo Kojima’s treasured game. After all, Death Stranding will have its own movie.
As indicated in Deadline, Kojima has teamed up with the film’s executive producer Barbarian (2022), Alex Lebovicito carry out a film project based on the world presented by Death Stranding. The work will be produced by Hammerstone Studios, owned by Lebovici.
The plot of the film is still a secret. Nevertheless, it was confirmed that new elements and characters will be introduced into the universe that we already know from the first game
The rest of the details (which is almost everything) were not revealed. It is not known if, for example, animations are still made from motion captures or if the original actors will do a ‘live action’.
Kojima commented the following regarding the project:
“I couldn’t be more excited about this new partnership with Hammerstone Studios. This is a pivotal time for the franchise and I am looking forward to partnering with them to bring Death Stranding
to the big screen.”
More details of the movie are expected to be revealed next year.
Let’s remember that Death Stranding It shows a world that suffered a supernatural event that has the same name. This caused the world of the dead and the living to come together, something that generated very serious consequences for the ecosystem and society. The latter lives secluded in bunkers, so it is the duty of protagonist Sam Porter to “bring America back together” by connecting settlements while carrying cargo and trying to bring hope to humanity.
