The Plucky Squire is a game developed by All Possible Futures and distributed by Return Digital. This one was first revealed just over two years ago. While the action-adventure title was originally slated for a 2023 release, that ultimately didn’t happen. The game ended up being pushed back to this year.
The Plucky Squire follows the magical adventures of Jot and his friends, storybook characters who discover a three-dimensional world outside the pages of their book.
When the evil Humgrump realizes he is the book’s villain, destined to lose his battle against the forces of good for all eternity, he casts the heroic Jot from the pages and changes history forever. Jot must face challenges never seen before if he is to save his friends from Humgrump’s dark forces and restore the book’s happy ending.
Jump between 2D and 3D worlds in this charming action-adventure. Solve puzzles, battle badgers, fly with a jetpack, and enjoy many more delightful and surprising challenges as you become the hero of a living storybook.
Devolver Digital launches The Plucky Squire coming September 17 for PS5 (PS Plus day one), Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC (Steam).
