At the beginning of the month, we reported that E3 2021 was going to be held virtually this year after having generated uncertainty by a new cancellation of the face-to-face event. At that time we knew the companies that would participate in this edition, and among them was Konami. However, the Japanese company recently backed out.
A couple of hours ago, Konami announced through his twitter account that would no longer be present at E3 2021. The event ended up surprising many people, who were waiting for an announcement from the company. A translation of the message that was posted can be found below:
“Due to timing issues, we will not be ready to perform at E3 this year. We want to reaffirm to our fans that we continue in a deep development of several key projects, so please stay tuned for some news in the coming months. Although we will not participate this year, we have great respect for ESA and we know that 2021 will be a great success. We will continue to support ESA and wish the best for this year’s show.
According to the statement, the decision not to go to E3 2021 is due to Konami’s tight schedule. Before some pointed out a possible conflict with the ESA (Entertainment Software Association), the official E3 account responded with a warm message: “We are sorry they did not reach but we know that they will be with us in spirit.
