Last November, Naughty Dog announced The Last of Us Part II Remastered, a remaster of the acclaimed 2020 game exclusive to PS5. Although the title includes a new playable mode, various improvements and additional content, not all the public received the news favorably.
Some fans rated this release as unnecessary, considering that the original proposal had already been updated to provide better graphical performance on Sony’s next-generation console. While others accused the studio of using this proposal as an excuse to promote the second season of the popular HBO and HBO Max series, which is about to begin filming.
Matthew Gallantdirector of The Last of Us Part II Remastered, did not turn a deaf ear to criticism nor did he remain silent. In an interview with VGC, The creative claimed not to understand the reason for the negative response from a certain part of the public.. And he confirmed that this new version simply seeks to offer the best native gaming experience with The Last of Us Part II en la PlayStation 5.
“I don’t understand some of the dismay at what he offers The Last of Us Part II Remastered. It’s the best way to play The Last of Us Part II. If you just bought a new PlayStation and are new to the franchise, we want to give you the best experience with all the hardware features of a native PS5 version of the game. My sense is that there is an audience for whom the idea of a PS5 version is exciting. I also speak for myself. I’m excited that we can bring this to the fans; and if it’s not for everyone, that’s okay,” Gallant explained.
Naughty Dog responds to criticism for The Last of Us Part II Remastered
Matthew Gallant’s comments have come to light with just a handful of days left until The Last of Us Part II Remastered is officially available. The game will be formally launched next Friday January 19although reservations have been open since the beginning of last December in exchange for 49.99 dollars/dollars.
Those who bought the original version (and in physical format) of The Last of Us Part II, which arrived on the PS4 in 2020, can be upgraded to the remaster by paying only $10. Of course, to enjoy this release you must have a PS5 with a Blu-ray reader drive. Because? As for graphical optimizations, the game will include better textures and shadows.
