The French studio The Game Bakers, mainly known for Furi, delighted us at the end of 2020 with a very unusual RPG that asked us to survive on a planet controlling Yu and Kay, two lovers in search of a destiny together. The game in question is Haven and thanks to a new update we can choose protagonist couples of the same sex.
What makes this game special is its multiplayer mode that allows two people to separately control the members of the couple. This is an unusual system in RPGs that we would like to see more of. It is available for PS5, PC, Xbox, PS4 y Nintendo Switch
The ‘couples update’ is now available for Haven on all platforms. At the beginning of the game we can choose if we want Yu and Kay to be a heterosexual, gay or lesbian couple.
Below you can see a trailer showing off the new couples in the game. As you can see, it’s not just about visual changes. The voice actors have changed to reflect the gender we choose for the characters.
In a post for the official PlayStation blogEmeric Thoa—creative director at The Game Bakers—said that Haven it’s a game about having the freedom to love whoever we want and so they’re happy to finally represent that in the game by having the protagonists be same-sex or same-gender couples.
