We welcome free items that Overwatch 2 offers us with the celebration of LGBTI pride month and the revelation about the sexual orientation of Pharah and Baptiste, but we are not distracted from their problems. We love that video games celebrate diversity, but we can’t ignore that Blizzard and many other companies have used this as a smokescreen. We do not forget the unpopular cancellation of the expected cooperative mode y the problems of sexual and labor harassment that apparently are still present in their offices.
Something that we do appreciate a lot is that in the Gear Store the Blizzard there are many LGBTI Pride themed items and proceeds from sales through June 30, 2023 will be donated to the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE).
Map Changes
the map of Midtown has been updated to reflect a Pride parade that has just ended and pays tribute to the stonewall riots.
Furthermore, in Observatory: Gibraltar we will find a new photo of Tracer and her girlfriend Emily (which is also a new ‘spray’).
New free LGBTI Pride items at Overwatch 2
Starting June 1, everyone who logs into Overwatch 2 will receive a huge extensive collection of player icons representing the flags of the different orientations and business cards dedicated to some of the LGBTI heroes of the game.
What is the sexual orientation of Baptiste and Pharah in Overwatch 2?
We already knew that Tracer is lesbian, Soldier 76 is gay, and newcomer Lifeweaver is pansexual. Fans have long speculated about the sexual orientation of other characters, and Blizzard has already officially revealed more about them. We must accept that we are not at all surprised to discover that Pharah is lesbian and that Baptiste is bisexual.
We can already read a new short story written by Jen Stacy focused on these two characters. At the time of writing this note, it is only available in English.but we do not doubt that it will soon be translated.
