PlayStation 5 is now official: new details and release date

date, Details, official, PlayStation, release

Playstation 5 will be the name of the next generation of consoles Sony. It has once again been through the middle Wired where details of the next PlayStation have been revealed, which from today has been officially baptized as PlayStation 5.

In addition to naming the console (not taking it by surprise), Sony has confirmed that PlayStation 5 will be available in late 2020 and it will be accompanied by a new version of the DualShock controller, which will have as a great novelty the possibility of offering a haptic response.

As reported by the architect Mark Cerny, the new DualShock It incorporates a haptic feedback system that improves vibration technology, and that allows generating a much broader response to increase immersion. In addition, the peripheral add adaptive triggers (L2 and R2) to offer different levels of resistance (programmable), a function that should allow you to feel more authentically some actions such as drawing a bow or appreciating the difference between firing a machine gun or a shotgun.

Regarding design, the new DualShock will be very similar to the current one but it has not yet been confirmed that its name is DualShock 5. However, it highlights the presence of a small hole whose details will be revealed later.

On the other hand, it is confirmed that the PlayStation 5 controller will have a USB-C connection, a battery with greater autonomy (you can continue playing with cable) and improved speakers. According to Toshi Aoki, product manager, the next DualShock It will have a slightly lower weight than the current Xbox One controller.

PlayStation 5 will use an SSD drive that promises to reduce or even make load times disappear. Due to the advantages of this storage system compared to the optical drive, which will be a Blu-ray reader that can act as a 4K player, On PlayStation 5 installing the games will be a must.

The disks used by the console will be 100GB standard Blu-ray, a size that may fall short. However, Sony ensures that thanks to the use of SSD and a new module installation system, the space required on both disk and internal storage will be less.

As Cerny explains, PlayStation 5 installation system will no longer treat games as a single block, but it will allow you to access the data more precisely. That means that will provide the possibility to install only the single player campaign and leave the multiplayer for another time. Another option would be to install the entire game and clear the single-player mode once passed.

About the PlayStation 5 interface, Cerny assures that has been completely renovated. The new design will offer information on multiplayer activities without having to run the game, while if it is a campaign title, missions or available rewards will be shown. At the moment Sony has not shown any screenshots or videos to see what this interface will be like.

We will keep you informed with all the new information that they reveal these days.
