Some months ago, PlayStation officially revealed its new virtual reality platform PS VR2 along with a title of Horizon. Now, through an official blog post written by Hideaki Nishino, we can see what this new virtual reality device looks like and appreciate its attractive design.
Here it is:
Nishino explains that the design is inspired by other products in the PS5 family. Its rounded shapes are intended to represent the 360-degree point of view that we have when immersing ourselves in a virtual reality game.
As well as looking for visual appeal, he says that PlayStation VR2’s design also emphasizes ease of use. The ‘headset’ maintains a good weight distribution, reducing it a bit compared to the first PS VR. The ability to adjust the lens is enhanced by a dial.
A new feature of this virtual reality device is the design of the vent or vent. Yujin Morisawa, senior art director at SIE, explains that there is a small opening between the top and front of the device that allows airflow, preventing the lenses from fogging up.
PlayStation VR2 (PS VR2) does not yet have a definite release date, but many expect it to hit stores this year.
