In the Gamescom 2022 opening night, Sony revealed a new Pro or customizable control for PlayStation 5 (PS5) baptized as DualSense Edge. This is a new variant with additional buttons, customizable options, and the ability to toggle between different button configurations.
DualSense Edge has two rear buttons, directly behind the analog sticks, as well as sliders next to the triggers to alter the distance and dead zones of said analogs. The covers of the ‘sticks’ are interchangeable. Each controller comes with two different types of back buttons and three different stick cover options. Other options are sold separately.
Each genre that requires specific settings – such as racing and first-person shooters – can be programmed into the DualSense Edge by default and independently, for access at any time. In terms of aesthetics, the control has designs with the PlayStation symbols on the touch panel and the triggers, similar to the PS5 ‘faceplates’.
We do not know if other colors will be released later as in the last sony console.
When is the DualSense Edge Customizable Pro Controller coming out for PS5?
Until the moment of its revelation, Sony did not inform about an availability date or the price of the DualSense Edge control for PS5.
