Almost nine years after its launch – yes, nine – the dream of playing this strategic FPS title with friends from different platforms will finally come true. Ubisoft confirmed that Rainbow Six Siege will finally receive the long-awaited crossover game in Season 4 of Year 9, which will arrive this year.
During the presentation of the Operation Collision Point season, the development team confirmed that we will finally be able to play R6 with other people regardless of whether they are playing on PlayStation, Xbox or PC platforms. If we play on consoles, we can choose which ‘crossplay’ group we want to play in – just our platform, just consoles or consoles and PC – and if we are on a computer we can choose between playing only with other PC players or PC and consoles. This will greatly improve matchmaking wait times and allow everyone to progress through both types of ranks depending on the type of matchmaking they choose.
You can see the presentation at the official channel of Ubisoft Latin America on YouTube. Here you will also learn about the new medal progression system and changes to Blackbeard and shield uses.
Console and PC players will be indistinguishable from each other in-game, and invites will be handled through Ubisoft Connect.
This issue surely worries those who fear being matched with cheaters who play on PC, as this platform is more susceptible to hacks. Ubisoft says that along with the arrival of ‘crossplay’ or cross-play to Rainbow Six Siege They will also implement the MouseTrap V2 anti-cheat system which should help get rid of hackers.
When does ‘crossplay’ arrive? Rainbow Six Siege?
This long-awaited system will be available with the arrival of season 4 of year 9 of Rainbow Six Siege (Operation Collision Point) from the November 17, 2024.
This new season will also implement new features to the matchmaking system to calculate a squad’s skill and rebalance the game to make it more fair.
