During the most recent State of Play, Konami and Bloober Team presented a new trailer for the ‘remake’ of Silent Hill 2. This new version preserves the atmosphere of the classic but modernizes all its playable aspects. Working closely with Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka, the developers strongly ensure this.
The over-the-shoulder camera is one of those new elements. This immerses players in James’ story and the surreal world of Silent Hill. With a new perspective comes a new combat system and ways to view or explore the sinister town. Thanks to Unreal Engine 5, PlayStation 5 players will experience Silent Hill 2 with a high visual, auditory and sensory level.
Not only will the game benefit graphically, but also from the 3D audio capabilities on PS5. The DualSense controller will, of course, provide haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Some of this can be seen in The Mediumthe previous game of Bloober Team. Last but not least, SSD storage technology will help eliminate loading screens entirely while players explore the Silent Hill town.
When does it come out Silent Hill 2?
Silent Hill 2 is in development for PlayStation 5 but it still does not have a tentative release date.
