One of the great surprises of the main presentation of the Summer Game Fest 2023 was Sonic Superstarsa new 2D game of the blue hedgehog that will arrive at the end of the year and whose trailer brought back Fang, a character that fans of Sega’s mascot have not seen for many, many years.
First of all, here is the trailer for this new game that will arrive in the last quarter of 2023.

Who is Fang, the character that appears at the end of the trailer for Sonic Superstars?
Fang the Gunslinger, whose name was translated in some games as Nack the Weasel—despite being a gerbil and not a weasel—is a villain who first appeared in Sonic Triple Troublea game for the Game Gear that came out in 1994.
Here you can see what he looks like on the cover of that game.
In this title, his objective is to steal the Chaos Emeralds and we must face him at the end of each special scenario.
What other games has he appeared in?
We saw Fang again the following year in the racing game Sonic Drift 2, also for the Game Gear, in which he is one of seven selectable characters. His final official appearance would be in 1996 in the infamous fighting game Sonic the Fighters
This character has practically disappeared since then. We saw it in a cameo as an equippable item in Tails Adventure and was seen on a ‘Wanted’ poster in Sonic Generations. Now, more than 25 years after he last appeared, the Gunslinger Fang returns to presumably reprise his villainous role in Sonic Superstar.
