On November 12, 2020, Sony presented its ninth-generation console in the United States. That is, the first anniversary of the PlayStation 5 is already celebrated (PS5), so on this date a list of the most popular games on this console was shared.
Through PlayStation Blog, Sony appreciated the support of scarce public who have acquired their most recent console. Among the data you shared, revealed that at least 4.6 billion hours of gameplay have been made on PS5 and 26 million hours of content have been streamed.
These figures have been achieved with only 13 million consoles sold, which is not much when compared to the overwhelming success of the PS2 (throughout its life cycle).

The company did not just list the games, but again directly touched on the issue of the console shortage. After all, It was recently revealed that PS5 production expectations were lowered to just 15 million units by March 2022 with the argument of “component and logistics limitations.”
Referring to this issue, Sony apologized and acknowledged the great demand for PS5 in the world:
We are focused on doing everything in our power to dispatch as many units as possible. It’s something we work on every day across the company and it remains our top priority.
While it is noted that work will be done to produce many consoles, there does not seem to be a defined plan or strategy that will solve this problem. It seems that the PS5 will remain a very limited product for a longer time.
