If this rumor turns out to be true, Soul Hackers 2 will join Persona 3, 4 and 5 —other ‘spin-offs’ of Shin Megami Tensei which are already available on Xbox Game Pass.

The story of Soul Hackers 2 begins amid the glow of neon lights, in a world where technological advancement sees humans consumed by commercial convenience. Meanwhile, in the shadows, a war is brewing between Yatagarasu and the Phantom Society. These are two groups of ‘Devil Summoners’ who harness the supernatural powers of ‘Devils’. Aion, a digital hive mind, existing in humanity’s secret sea of data, has awakened and possesses a consciousness. Observing humanity from afar, Aion calculates that a world-ending disaster is imminent and creates two agents to combat it. These agents are Ringo and Figue, who must investigate and prevent a butterfly effect that will lead to the end of the world.
