At present, the main line in RPGs of Final Fantasy it is closer to action than its classic counterparts. We have seen it since FFXII and has only been applied punctually, cases of FFXV Y FFVII Remake.
Between the reports prior to E3 2021 and on the eve of receiving an announcement on those dates, rumor has it that Square Enix is developing a ‘spin-off’ of Final Fantasy action focused. Presumably, the studio would work with Team Ninja, Koei Tecmo’s team behind games like Ninja Gaiden, Nioh and his own Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.
Under the tentative name of Final Fantasy Origin and with gameplay similar to Nioh, the story would be located in the world of the first Final Fantasy for NES / Famicom. The game would be a temporary exclusive to PlayStation 5 with a later release on PC. It would be Square Enix’s strongest token during E3, and an alpha demo would be released in search of feedback, titulado ‘Stranger in Paradise.’
The same team behind Dissidia Final Fantasy NT I would be in charge of Final Fantasy Origin. Its great resemblance to Nioh It was because, a good part of the team that worked in these games, would have been delegated to FF Origin.
Of course and as usually happens weeks before E3, these reports must be taken with a grain of salt until an official announcement, but it never hurts to consider them.
