Fortnite, but in 2D and with adorable little animals. That’s the best way to describe the bizarre and funny Super Animal Royale, an indie game that puts an unexpected twist on the popular ‘battle royale’ genre.
This title is the work of Pixile Studios, a team that has members in Canada, the United States, Italy and Argentina and whom we met thanks to the mobile game Stratosphere. As they say, their goal is to create multiplayer titles that escape from established ideas. It will be published by Modus Games, the same ones that will bring us the colombian game Crystals.
As you can see in the trailer, the strength of Super Animal Royale it is in the contrast generated between its adorable characters and the violence in which they participate. Up to 64 players can fight in the battles that take place in an abandoned safari park. In addition to eliminating the rivals, we can explore the map to discover the mysterious mythology of the game.
At the moment we can enjoy Super Animal Royale through Steam’s early access program. This is a free game, but we can buy cosmetic items with real money.
The official launch of this title will be in 2021. It will arrive on PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch, but we can try Super Animal Royale First on Xbox One and Series X | S on June 1 through the Game Preview program. The ‘Founders Edition’, which will include various cosmetic items, will be available to Xbox Game Pass users.
