During the special presentation of the 15 years of the saga of the assassins we announce that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla would have a new game mode called ‘The Forgotten Saga’ (‘The Forgotten Saga’) with mechanics inspired by the roguelikes. This new way of playing is now available and It is free for all owners of the game.
This new adventure puts us back in the shoes of Havi (the god Odin). After the events of the DLC The dawn of Ragnarok —whose impressions you can read here— The All-Father is not resigned to losing his son Baldur and decides to travel to Niflheim, the realm of the dead, to rescue him.
How to play ‘the forgotten saga’, the roguelike mode of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
After updating the game to version 1.6.0. and having first reached Asgard, players will be able to build a new building in Ravensthorpe called Everold’s Cabin. Once ready, we can use it to access Niflheim whenever we want. This area has no power level restrictions.
The idea of this new game mode is conquer the depths of Niflheim in a single attempt. This, of course, will not be easy. We will have to die many times to achieve it. With each death, we have a new opportunity to use the resources and experience gained to improve Havi (Odin) and make the next attempt to overcome the cold of Kaldstad, the swamps of Nidheim and Hela Castle easier.

Equipment and rewards
In addition to fighting Hela’s minions, we can explore to find items, perks, gear, and abilities. This is important because we can’t bring the gear and skills we have with us into this game mode. Instead, we will have random items when we venture into the land of the dead.
As we make attempts to beat ‘The Forgotten Saga’ game mode of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla we will be able to complete optional missions for some characters. Not all of them can be completed in one game, but they are worth it.
In addition to improving Havi’s strength and abilities, each new game in this game mode gives us resources with which we can buy new tattoos, mounts, and skins for the raven in Ravensthorpe.
