We’re excited to celebrate the two decades since the release of this game with a new version, but don’t think it only has graphical improvements and some extras like the gallery. The 20th anniversary edition of this game also has a new special treasure hunt or quest that reveals details of Jade’s past and connects it to its sequel: the long-awaited Beyond Good & Evil 2.
This quest is available in the final part of the game, when we finally find the Beluga hidden in Zerdy’s Workshop. From that moment we will find a series of clues that will lead us to travel again throughout Hillys in search of new mdisks that reveal the characters of the sequel.
Who are the characters that appear in the new mission that connects Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition with Beyond Good & Evil 2?

Now that you have a clearer idea, let’s see how to start the mission.
Part 1: Open the chest in Zerdy’s Hidden Workshop
After returning from the Slaughterhouse and speaking with the members of IRIS is their refuge, we have the necessary clues to access Zerdy’s workshop. We must use the passwords on the soles of their boots on the monitors in the hangar and in the children’s room in the lighthouse.
Once this is done, we can access the secret workshop and take a new object that is on its work table: the rusty knife.
With the password that is written on one side of the knife we can open the chest that is to the left of the work table. This way we will obtain the Tiny Glasses, he Map to the past 1 and the Mdisk ‘About Knox’. We can view the Mdisk on any terminal to learn more about the ape-man of the Gada crew.
To continue, we must try to discover which part of the world the map refers to in the past and look for the clue in the glasses.
Part 2: Open the Black Island Chest
Map to the past 1 refers to the abandoned mine in the Interior of the Black Island. We must return to the area indicated on the map to find it and continue with the new mission that connects Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition with its sequel Beyond Good & Evil 2.
By opening this chest using the key written on the back of the tiny glasses we will obtain the Pirate Outfit for Jadehe Map to the Past 2he Dream Catcher and the Mdisk ‘Acerca de Yaashan’.
Part 3: Open the treasure chest in Akuda Bar (room 01)
The map to the past 2 refers to the chest in room 01 of the Akuda Bar, where there is a goat man.
By opening it with the key found in the dreamcatcher we will obtain the Gada Slider, Map to the Past 3, Chess Knight and the Mdisk ‘About One’.
Part 4: Open the Volcano Treasure Chest
The map to the past refers to the volcano that we can only reach by flying with the Beluga and landing in the crater. It is in the northern part of Hillys (it is the same black island). The chest is in the final part of this level.
When we open this chest using the key that you found on the Chess Knight, we will receive the Beluga Gadathe Pirate Compass and the Mdisk ‘About Callum’.
Part 5: Complete the Chest of the Past quest
We take the Pirate Compass to the place where we begin this new mission that connects Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition with its sequel Beyond Good & Evil 2: Zerdy’s secret workshop in the Lighthouse.
There we have to put the compass on the device that is located to the right of Zerdy’s work table. This way we will see an emotional message for Jade and we will finish the mission.
This new mission added in Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition It made us relive the hope that one day we will be able to play the sequel. Will that wish ever come true?
