Developer Argonaut Games promotes the recently announced remaster of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos with a pretty clever comparison video. Although the release date of the improved has not been officially confirmed Crocthe game is scheduled to launch on current consoles. So it surely means PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Switch and PC – which is not a console but is a current platform.
The comparison video posted via Twitter analyzes the graphical changes with this remaster, when compared to the original PlayStation and Sega Saturn game from 1997. Argonaut states that their intention with the remaster is to incorporate visual improvements while retaining all the style and the charm of the original.
The improvements certainly aren’t hard to see, it’s much sharper, the frame rate appears to be much smoother, while objects and enemies at a distance are more defined. There is no information on when this new remastered version of Croc. But we can expect some updated controls along with improved graphics, plus “Crocypedia,” a new feature containing a wealth of development documents, interviews, and art.
