On January 31, 2024, during the broadcast of a PlayStation State of Play, Konami surprised us by announcing a new game in its popular horror franchise and immediately releasing it completely free. Now, the Japanese company is celebrating that Silent Hill: The Short Message It surpassed two million downloads in less than two weeks.
Konami reported the fulfillment of this goal through a publication on the official account of Silent Hill
This is a first-person horror game that puts us in control of Anita, a teenager trapped in an abandoned building. She must escape from a strange monster made of cherry blossoms, deal with her childhood traumas and a feeling of guilt that she does not want to accept. During the approximately two hours that the game lasts we explore the place, flee from the monster and solve a couple of puzzles. There is no combat.

It does not surprise us that Silent Hill: The Short Message has so soon surpassed two million downloads, not only because it is free, but because despite the long absence of the franchise, its name is still very popular among lovers of horror games.
