There are many rumors that say it will be in the third quarter of this year, but we are not sure of anything and it would be good to put an end to the speculation.

It's been five years since this game was announced and we are still eagerly waiting for even some information about its launch window. It began its development as a DLC for Hollow Knightbut eventually it grew so much that it became the sequel to that title – which many of us consider one of the best 'metroidvania' of all time – and it remains unreleased. It has taken so long that it has become a meme.
While you are still waiting for it, we recommend taking a look at other excellent metroidvanias from last year such as Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown y Nine Sols.
Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal
We are flooded with rumors and alleged leaks about the successor to the successful Nintendo console. All this media circus trying to guess what this machine will do and what it will be like will end when Nintendo deigns to officially show it. That should happen soon, since that console should come out this year.
More video game studios unionize
2023 and 2024 have been the worst years in history for the video game industry. Despite record profits, thousands of dozens of developers have lost their jobs, dozens of studios have been closed, and countless games have been canceled. Unionizing studios isn't going to solve all of these problems, but it will give developers a defense against greedy management who only see them as numbers on an Excel sheet that they can delete to make themselves look good to shareholders.
In 2024 we saw unions forming at Bethesda, Activision Blizzard and elsewhere. We hope this continues.
Announcements of new games from “dead” franchises
We are all fans of one or two video game franchises that seem to have been forgotten by time. Every year we carefully watch all the new game announcement presentations hoping to see something of Dino Crisis, Darkstalkers, Parasite Eve, Rayman, Mega Man, F-Zero, etc.
Will 2025 be the year in which this long-awaited news will arrive? We hope so.
No more news about generative AI in video games
Actually, the most anticipated news of the year for us is the lack of news about games that use generative AI to present art and dialogue. We don't want games made by an algorithm that is simply dedicated to stealing something that is already made. We want art created by human artists.
