Less than a month ago, a new wave of companies confirmed their attendance at E3 2021. These add up to the list of those who had already signed up after knowing that the event would be held virtually (although some have repented, as in the case of Konami). Among the new participants is the Japanese company Bandai Namco, so in this note we will make a list of possible announcements that this company would make in E3 2021 (among which stands out Elden Ring, a possible game of Dragon Ball And till Digimon Survive).
Bandai Namco is the product of a merger between the Bandai and Namco brands in 2006. Its wide catalog of games is characterized by having mainly titles based on renowned ‘manganime’ productions such as Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Gundam, etc. However, it has also been commissioned to distribute other names such as Tekken, Taiko no Tatsujin and of course, Dark Souls.
In other words, Bandai Namco works with the rights of so many franchises that there is a wide range of possibilities in terms of announcements this E3 2021. Here are some of the topics of your presentation:
Bandai Namco at E3 2021: A Closer Look At Elden Ring
Elden Ring It is a project that was first announced during E3 2019. Little was revealed at the time, but the announcement made two things clear to us: the first, that it was going to be developed by From Software (creator of Dark Souls Y Ax); and second, that George RR Martin (author of A Song of Ice and Fire: a Game of Thrones) would be in charge of writing his story. These data and all the little information that has been revealed we have gathered in our corresponding essential note of Elden Ring.
Two years have passed since then and the public believes that in this edition of the E3 Bandai Namco will give a good sample of what will be Elden Ring. In fact, the own official Twitter account of the event has made a mention (not very compromising, yes) of the game:
The strongest proof of this idea has been the leak of what would be an official trailer of Elden Ring that happened a couple of months ago. It is a 112 second video that shows some scenes of what will be the story, the combat and even the exploration on horseback.
DLC of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot… or something else?
In March, the third DLC of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot – Trunks the Warrior of Hope. At that time Bandai Namco pointed out that this would be available in summer, so it is almost certain that we will have an official date (or directly the launch) during E3 2021.
Despite this, there are those who bet on a new title based on Dragon Ball for E3 2021. On the one hand, the idea of a Dragon Ball FighterZ 2 due to good grades in the first; although there are others who would expect a Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3.
The most optimistic want to see the return of a Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi in the form of remastering, but so far there has been no indication that Bandai Namco is interested in doing so, so it is a very small chance.
Launch trailers for Scarlet Nexus Y Tales of Arise
Other action RPGs are in the company’s sights, such as Tales of Arise Y Scarlet Nexus. The first one will arrive on June 25, so we can expect a launch trailer for E3 2021. In the meantime, Tales of Arise will be out on September 10th.
Some have been officially released gameplays of both titles and we know details of both the story and the gameplay. Still, additional information cannot be ruled out during the Bandai Namco presentation.
Digimon Survive it’s coming
Digimon Survive It was first announced in 2018 for the Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4 consoles. Since then, the title has faced numerous postponements, the last of them announcing that 2021 would be the year in which it would see the light.
Nevertheless, Digimon Survive it has also been shrouded in mystery. It is known that it will be a survival RPG and that it will have a combat style of strategy in squares (with energy meters and by turns). Data such as how many digimon there will be, the history of its characters or what other “survival” elements it will have are not very clear.
Since we are already in the supposed year of release we can only expect two things: a more detailed announcement that satisfies the curiosity of the players or a new postponement. Hopefully it will be the first and that in E3 2021 we can see in more detail Digimon Survive.
Other possible announcements
Beyond what was already mentioned, Bandai Namco may surprise you by announcing any game related to a ‘manganime’. For example, we know that you are already working on a new project for Gundam Seed.
For example, you could talk about a new game based on Naruto (Or better, Boruto). It has also been years since a title of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, It would build on the recent excitement over the Stone Ocean announcement.
It remains to be seen what surprises the company prepares for us for E3 2021.
