As you surely know, the PS Plus service will be ‘reinvented’ in June to include different subscription levelsone of which will allow us to play classic titles from the PlayStation primer —also known as PS1 or PSX— on PS4 and PS5. Many immediately wondered what these games would look like or if they would have improvements over the original versions.
Well, we have answers.
Some countries in Asia already have access to PS Plus Premium/Deluxe and videos about how PS1 game emulation works on PS5 have started to appear. One of them, published by the Video Games Chronicle website
In minute 4:51 you can see ‘rewind’ in action, allowing you to immediately undo mistakes. In the minute 5:38 we can see that we will have the option to switch between several image options – default, classic retro and modern – and the aspect ratio or “image size”. We also see in the menu the option to save state or ‘save state’, which will allow us to save the game anywhere.
The worrying thing happens in the minute 6:28, in which the game crashes, forcing the application to restart. The post explains that they experienced several crashes, likely due to the constant image option changes they were making.
The Extra and Deluxe levels of PS Plus with PS1 games for PS4 and PS5 will arrive in Colombia and the rest of Latin America on Monday June 13, 2022.
