The containment zone is about to get more dangerous. Rainbow Six Extraction will receive the ambitious new ‘Nightmare Fog’ update with a new limited-time crisis event, rewards, a new enemy type, and changes to the prestige system.
This is the first of the crisis events. Each one will be available for three weeks, and while it is active, there will be no weekly quests. They will be accessible without any prior requirements and are only accessible with a team of three players.

When will the ‘Nightmare Fog’ crisis event be available in Rainbow Six Extraction?
It will start on Thursday, May 12 and we will be able to enjoy the limited game mode until Thursday, June 2, 2022.
What is the ‘Nightmare Fog’ crisis event
During these forays into the containment zone we will be exposed to a fog that will increase our level of neurotoxins. If that reaches a certain level, we will suffer psychedelic effects such as reduced vision, damage and even hallucinations.
We will be able to heal ourselves using a Ndollarstim that reduces a portion of the accumulation of neurotoxins, but these objects are limited.
The objective of these missions is to destroy the source tree of the mist after going through three sub-maps with a time limit of 15 minutes each. Each submap has a different objective. The first can vary among several. The second is a decontamination variant where we have to destroy the aberrant nests and take a neoplasm sample to reduce the mist tree’s energy by half. The goal of the third is to destroy the tree once and for all.
What are the rewards for this event?
By playing the ‘Nightmare Fog’ crisis event raids on Rainbow Six Extraction we can complete four crisis studies that they give us as rewards a helmet, a uniform, an amulet and a weapon skin. We will also get more XP than in the main game modes.
Playing in any game mode we can complete another crisis study that will reward us with the Pistola REACT Rush which gives us a speed increase and invulnerability for 15 seconds. We can unlock it after destroying a certain number of nests.
If we complete all the crisis studies we will obtain new details about the game’s ‘lore’ and a ‘conclusion’ for the files.
Lastly, we can get five ‘Nightmare Fog’ themed amulets as rewards in the Maelstrom Protocol of Rainbow Six Extraction reaching different ranks from bronze to diamond.
Other news of the update
The new enemy Protean Vigil will be able to appear in the main game while we fulfill Portal objectives (‘Gateway’)
We can also upload Ten new levels of Prestige. These will be independent for each Operator, they will be displayed on the interface and will unlock unique rewards.
The new limited event ‘Nightmare Fog’ is available for free to all players of Rainbow Six Siege en PS4, PS4, Xbox One, Series X|S, PC, Google Stadia y Amazon Luna.
