As Blizzard had announced before the game’s release, their new game will have a season system similar to that of Diablo 3. They already revealed what season 1 of Diablo 4 and then we will reveal the first details about the new team, boss, power, the new deed and the start date or when the ‘season of evil’ begins.
When does season 1 start Diablo 4?
As revealed in the story trailer that you can see below, the start date of season 1 or ‘season of evil’ in Diablo 4 will be on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at noon (Colombia, Peru and Ecuador time)
How to play season 1 or season of evil
If we have already completed the game campaign at least once, on July 20 we will have the option to create a new season character to participate in it. We cannot participate with our usual characters and neither if we have not passed the game.
Season characters will have the following perks:
- They will be able to skip the campaign.
- They will have the mount available immediately.
- All discovered Altars of Lilith and areas of the map will be unlocked and will have the corresponding renown.
With the seasonal character we can complete missions, eliminate enemies and carry out different activities to gain a level up in the new passes, both free and paid. Among the rewards are title “Eldritch Monster”, a weapon transmog for each of the five classes, and Crafter clothing. We can also earn Burning Ashes to win seasonal blessings and further improve the characters.
When season 1 ‘season of evil’ ends, we can transfer our character, progress and rewards to the normal game mode of Diablo 4
Enemies and ‘evil’ hearts
In this season there will be a new quest in which we will join Cormond, an ancient priest of the Cathedral of Light, to face the ‘Evil’ enemies affected by a new type of corruption of Lilith.
To do so we must defeat partially corrupted enemies using a special ritual with a new object. Doing this will cause enemies to be reborn ‘fully corrupted’ and will drop a evil heart upon being defeated. The easiest way to find them is in the new evil tunnels. In them we will find new boss Varshan the Consumed and we will discover the secrets of the new plot.
Evil Hearts can be equipped in special Jewel slots instead of normal gems. They can be of 32 different types and each one gives us a different power or advantage. We can also find 6 new unique items and 7 new legendary skins during the season crossing.
We warn you that the Evil Hearts will not be transferred to the normal mode of Diablo 4 when the season ends.
