One of the biggest complaints from PlayStation users is that Sony’s console doesn’t have an official Pro controller. While there are alternatives like the awesome SCUF Reflex, there’s nothing quite like the official Xbox Elite Xbox. On PS4 there were licensed controls, but nothing with the official Sony seal. However, everything seems to indicate that Sony is working on a DualSense Proa controller with triggers and other news for PS5.
with code name Hunteverything seems to indicate that the device is ready for its announcement at some point next month, according to what they point out in Try Hard Guides
A Pro controller to compete with the SCUF and Elite
According to Tom Herdenson, who would have seen images of the controller, the prototype maintains the classic style of the PlayStation 5 DualSense, but shows some key differences. One of the biggest changes is some buttons below the analog sticks, which allow them to be completely removed along with their components. Sony refers to them as removable drives
The prototype also features hand grips to help hold the controller, which appear to be removable as well. According to the same source, it has also been said that the DualSense Pro, will have important software updates. This could include a controller-specific app on the console itself, or a new settings panel to fine-tune its behavior. Although, again, none of this is officially confirmed.
On pricing or availability, it’s unclear when exactly the new controller will be revealed or what its price will be. Given the cost of Pro controllers, with the elite controller which is priced at 180 dollars, or the SCUF, which exceed 300 dollars, Sony could keep the price of the new controller at bay between both extremes.
According to Henderson, the east could be announced at the end of this month or the beginning of next, since Sony would have planned to announce new hardware. An event, yes, that would not include a new console, only related accessories.
