In 1958, Alfred Hitchcock introduced us Vertigo, one of the most recognized and influential ‘cine noir’ films in history. Now, more than 60 years later, Vertigo It will receive its adaptation to the world of video games from the Spanish team Pendulo Studios.
In case you don’t know this classic of the seventh art, Vertigo tells the story of John “Scottie” Ferguson (James Stewart), a former policeman who had to retire after beginning to suffer from agoraphobia and vertigo. Now he is a private investigator who is hired by an old friend to follow his wife (Kim Novak) who has started behaving strangely. Things quickly get complicated and, after a tragedy, Scottie becomes obsessed with the image of the woman he was chasing.
The video game, to be called Alfred Hitchcock – VertigoIt will be a graphic adventure with an emphasis on narrative. However, the characters and the story will be different. The protagonist will be a former writer named Ed Miller who survives a car accident. Although no one else was in his car, he insists that he was traveling with his wife and daughter.
The developers say that, in addition to drawing inspiration from the work of the same name, Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo will have references to other works by the famous director, such as Rebecca Y Psychosis.
