The new installment of Sega’s most famous military RTS would arrive at the end of 2022 according to the statement that they have shared on several specialized websites. There are several announcements that come to change the expectations of the players of the saga regarding this new installment.

The first thing is that for now will be PC exclusive, at least until 2022. The second thing is that we can test it right now if we we register on the game website and we link all our data with Steam. In fact, Relic has revealed that the development of the game has been done in conjunction with various fans who belong to the Discord channel.

Development with the community

So the plans are for the same players to constantly share their opinion through the forums of the title website. Based on these opinions, Relic will develop the third installment of this mythical saga that returns to the Mediterranean setting of World War II.

For his part, the general manager of Relic Entertainment, Justin Dowdeswell, commented the following:

We are very excited for players to experience Company of Heroes 3 from the pre-alpha stage and receive your valuable feedback. We have co-developed the game with our fantastic community members for years, and they have been instrumental in providing consistent and meaningful feedback at every step of the development process. We’re ready to massively expand that show with our fans around the world through our CoH Development Program, made possible by Amplitude Studios’ fantastic Games2Gether platform.

The shared trailer is quite spectacular and shows us how a group of American soldiers recovers a coastal town in Italy that had been taken over by the Germans. The trailer is cinematic and doesn’t show any gameplay, but at least we have the new public pre-alpha.

In the same way, let’s remember that a pre-alpha is something that is far from ready, so if you are interested in trying it, remember that it is a product in development. Lastly, Relic hasn’t shared the minimum requirements, so it’s a matter of trying to see if your PC can handle the game.
