The announcement was published by means of a new official trailer, in which in just over a minute, we find the fantastic world created by Shinobu Sakagami and Kunihiro Kawashima.
In the story we meet the carefree, everyday life of a 5-year-old girl and a puppy, Riku, who little by little meet and adopt more friends along the way.
From the Italian greyhound Riku, the Chihuahua Tsutomu, the miniature dachshund Yōsuke, the French bulldog Maruchan, and the pug Paguzo, all will become the protagonist’s faithful companions.
A little more of Riku wa Yowakunai
The film ‘Riku wa Yowakunai’ adapts the children’s books created by actress Sakagami, who recounts her life through the adventures of the little girl and her canine friends, who will surely be joined by more companions in the future, considering that the writer currently has 14 dogs and 4 cats.
For his part, Kawashima, the illustrator, is better known in the entertainment world by his stage name ‘Cookie’, being part of the comedian duo Yasei Bakudan.
To adapt the vision of these two great artists you will find director Masatsugu Arakawa (‘Urahara’) for the animation studios Kachidoki Studio in collaboration with Jūmonji.
Yū Saito is in charge of the direction of the sound in the company CHANCE iN, which joins forces with MMDGP and in the distribution we have Tokyo Theaters Company.
