There have been rumors around Ghost of Tsushima for days, the problem is that almost all of them come from insidersWe know that many of them get close to the truth on several occasions but also that we would like to receive official news from time to time. This one talks about an expansion called Ghost of Ikishima for the Sucker Punch Productions game.
If this rumor has attracted attention, it is because it basically makes sense, whether the source is good or not. The Iki Islands are located south of those of Tsushima and also have many stories to tell, also, given the end of GoT, the obvious is that you have to change location for a possible expansion. As if that were not enough, we must not forget the past of the studio and Sony.
Meaningful rumors
Sucker Punch previously developed the InFamous franchise, both the second installment and InFamous Second Son received updates in the form of expansions that were sold separately to their main games. For their part, other Sony franchises such as Spider-Man received expansions such as Miles Morales or Lost Abbys in the case of Uncharted 4.

Expansions are common in many genres, especially RPGs and strategy games. However, Sony has staked out by releasing expansions in genres that are not as given to that as the third-person adventures we mentioned.
So the rumor makes sense, however, this one to be taken more carefully than the rest of the rumors. Sony has not communicated anything about it and there are no events in sight, so we have to wait. Similarly, a Sony event is expected this summer, so we believe that we should not wait so long, especially if we remember that the Summer Game Fest will have more presentations in the coming months.
