Rustler, a medieval version of old-school action sandbox games, is coming to PS4 and PS5 later this year. At Modus Games, we’re excited to share an incredible, historically inaccurate world filled with pop culture references, crazy humor, and medieval shenanigans that developer Jutsu Games has crafted.
In Rustler, you play as Guy, a tough peasant whose parents were apparently too lazy to give him a proper name. After a typical evening of drinking, Guy wakes up in a giddy and confused stupor – and this is where his adventures begin. As Guy, you’ll take on absurd quests to steal horses, terrorize townspeople in disguise, and brawl with local law enforcement knights. He will do whatever it takes to improve his social standing in the world and the play that goes with it. Your ultimate goal is to win the Grand Tournament and eventually the hand of the princess. However, to achieve this you will need to plan your entry into the tournament with the help of your aptly named and trusted friend, Buddy.
The lifestyle of medieval gangsters wouldn’t be complete without the freedom to think outside the box. We hope players will also have an explosion simply causing chaos in villages and towns with a number of weapons at your disposal, including swords, crossbows, and even holy hand grenades. Got the hot fuzz on your track? No worries: hire a bard to play a fusion of new hip-hop and medieval tunes to aid you in battle.
Who knew that the Middle Ages also had so many fun distractions to participate in? All over the world, you’ll come across a variety of mini-games, including medieval martial arts (MMA) cage fights, horse racing, and offering your own taxi services. Remember not to park in a “horse-free zone”.
Live out your medieval thug life dreams when Rustler releases on PS4 and PS5 later in 2021.
