Hi everyone! We here at Spike Chunsoft are excited to announce that Katana Kami: The Way of the Samurai Story, is set to release February 20!
Samurai Mode is a franchise built on Japanese action-inspired hack-and-slash action set in Japan's quirky, quasi-accurate history of Japan. The series debuted in 2002 with Way of the Samurai on the PS2 and continued through generations of console, they finally reached the PS4 in the form of Katana Kami. While some of the distribution has a true sequence, Katana Kami still has all the different characters, themes, and actions this series is known for.
Katana Kami takes place in the peaceful (present) Rokkotsu Pass, which is a common place for the employment of vets. Sword Dojima has fallen out of debt, while the linked debt collectors have taken his beautiful daughter Nanami as a liability. The storyteller arrives and agrees to help Dojima pay the debt … to get her daughter's hand back in marriage. No, no one said that the ronin they wander used to be generous.
This kicks off the main loop of the gameplay loop: the player passes through mysterious caves under the pine tree "Ipponmatsu" to collect items and swords at night and sells swords for Dojima's bulk during the day. The pools themselves are made randomly to keep you on your toes, and the deeper the hole you go, the less complex and more powerful the material you find. But be careful, because enemies are getting stronger. Do you have the courage to go deeper to get the best spoils at risk of being chased by powerful enemies? Be prepared to deal with wildlife, illiterate wildlife, and specialties based on Japanese literature. I hope you make it alive, because you lose all your assets when you die. However, if you feel lucky, you can conquer your doppelganger spirit the next time you enter the dungeon bar to recover your lost property.
There is also online play so you can challenge others on board. Or you could just go in there, kill your friend with diesel, and take all of them. Choose for yourselves.
At the back of the face, stop in pain, discard all of the collected items from Dojima, and help her move on to the store. Then meet all the quirky characters living in Rokkotsu Pass and take sword orders from them.
There are three rival groups in the Rokkotsu Pass, each with its own history and personality. Depending on how you receive (or refuse) and deliver orders, you can join these groups, give them all the best swords and gear, or try to maintain a balance of power by treating all orders as much as possible. Whatever you decide to do, just make sure you have the money when the debt collector comes knocking.
Also, don't forget to download two free DLCs available February 20-27 on the PlayStation Store.
We are very excited about this topic and the opportunity to introduce new viewers to The Way of Samurai. See you on the ground below, samurai.
