Santa Monica Studio is one of the most important studios for Sony because they are the creators of God of War. The creators of the Kratos saga have given many joys to PlayStation users and now we know that new rumors indicate that the study could be working on a new fantasy game.
These rumors are also supported by a list of jobs that can be located within the Santa Monica Studios website. Featured on the job list is a senior character concept artist with extensive experience in the video game industry. Santa Monica Studio comments on the post that they need someone to help them develop rule sets for fantasy-based worlds.
This makes us think that this new game would be totally based on fantasy, which would represent something new for one of Sony’s most allied studios. In the same way, it is explained in the publication that this position is for a new unannounced title, so we can rule out that it is the sequel to God of War.
A new work team
To this must be added the fact that in January 2021 Santa Monica Studios published that it needed a new art director for an unannounced title. So it is about the assembly of the work team that will be in charge of the new Santa Monica Studios project.
At the moment we know that Santa Monica Studios is working on God of War: Ragnarok, a title that was shown in the middle of last year with a brief teaser. Very few details are known about this game, but it is expected to be a direct sequel to the 2018 title. It is very likely that we will face Thor and other Norse gods in this new installment of the Kratos saga.
