Finally last week Square Enix offered in the official store of Sony on PlayStation 4 a free demo of Final Fantasy VII Remake, the expected videogame of the saga that will be released next April 10th. Many fans have finally been able to put their hands on this title, even if it was in a trial version of just 1 hour, and check different aspects of the remake.
The game complies with a note in many aspects: visual section, musical compositions, gameplay … It seems that we are facing a very good remake of history that marveled many players in the mid-90s, however, With each new Final Fantasy, there is always much debate about the combat system.
Since Final Fantasy X, the last in the main saga with a traditional turn-based system, franchise titles have always explored different fight systems based on real time – although interesting mixtures have been produced. However, many of these systems do not like the more traditional player and accustomed to a pure turn system. Although the original Final Fantasy VII enjoyed a pure turn system,
Although it has a more similar option to shifts, the truth is that the difference is that the character performs the basic attacks automatically, and the player focuses solely on strategy and skills. In Final Fantasy VII Remake the player performs basic attacks on different parts of the enemy manually and, at the same time, controls the skills and special attacks based on a system of bars from the interface.
However, it is a system that remains far from the classic: still characters, turn attacks -although they can be altered-, unlimited time to choose what to do, much more strategy, etc. After you can enjoy the demo, it is the best time to ask these questions: do you like the Final Fantasy VII Remake combat system? Do you want Square Enix to implement a completely traditional one in turns?
