Since the launch of the PS5, our teams have been working to continuously improve your console experience. Later this year, we’re rolling out another major system update with new features, and we need your help testing them!
Starting today, you can register for the opportunity to join the very first PS5 system software beta program at: https://www.playstation.com/ps5/ps5-beta-program-sign-up. Registration is open to players over the age of 18 in the United States, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany and France. By signing up, you could be among the first to test new features and provide essential feedback that will help guide their development.
If you are selected to be part of the program, you will receive an email with instructions on how to download the beta version of the next system software. To register, you will need a PS5 console with an internet connection and a PlayStation Network account. You will also be automatically added to the pool of potential participants for future beta versions of the PS5 system software without having to register again. Once the beta has started, you can restore your system software to the latest official version before the beta ends.
Our last major PS5 system update in April introduced new features like USB extended storage, generational shared play, an improved gaming base, and other UI improvements and social features. We’ll be sharing more in the coming weeks on what to expect in the beta of our next update.
