Surgical Scalpels has announced that its competitive shooter game will finally arrive in the summer of 2021. The delay was seen to come since the game was scheduled for December 2020, but the game was never released and many fans were left with doubt.
Today the study dissipates them by admitting that the coronavirus has represented a very great challenge for the study based in China. That is why they have decided to take more time to polish the experience of this title that plans to win over the public with a competitive proposal fresher than that of the rest of shooters.
Shooting in space
In addition, the game has a publisher, Skystone Games that will make sure to distribute and advertise the game on PC and PlayStation 4 before, during and after its release. Both studios make their ind ustry debut, so we’ll have to see how they fare with their first foray.
Boundary is a first person shooter that is played like any other, its big difference is that everything happens in space, so zero gravity does not allow normal displacement. You have to float from one side to the other and shoot the enemies in those conditions that change how you play a first person shooter.
The stages are space stations, the characters are called astroperators, and there are four game modes that will give everyone interested in racing something to do. There will be no campaign mode so all attention will be focused on these four modes that are likely to aspire to become an Esport.
Game modes
The game has the typical Deathmatch mode in which we play against another group of enemies and the one who kills the most enemies wins, a classic. We also have Facility Capture that forces us to control different areas of the map in the form of ships and space stations, whoever controls them for the longest time will win.
Finally we have Skirmish and Orbital Purge. The first is similar to Deathmatch only that we are forced to use the same classes and weapons as the opponent. The game is organized by rounds, whoever wins the most rounds will win the game. And finally, Orbital Purge is the competitive mode of the game.
For now, two operators have been revealed: Vodka and Shielder. The first is offensive and the second defensive. There are four other classes that we don’t have details on yet but we hope to have as we get closer to the game’s launch.
Boundary will launch in summer 2021 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC
