It’s hard to believe, but Studio Ghibli’s most acclaimed adventure, ‘Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi’ (‘Spirited Away’) turns 20, since the premiere that took us to a magical world full of Japanese folklore.
With an Oscar in tow and with the title of the highest grossing film in Japan until the premiere of ‘Kimetsu no Yaiba: Movie Mugen Ressha-hen’, the studio behind its production could not miss the occasion.
Through the studio’s official Twitter accounts in English and Japanese Illustrations dedicated to the film were posted to thank the fans with Chihiro about Haku and a smiling Yubaba.
“Today 20 years ago, Hayao Miyazaki’s ‘Spirited Away’ premiered in theaters in Japan. Happy anniversary #SpiritedAway! ✨ ”.
“Good Morning!”.
One more surprise on their anniversary
While Japan is sure to have several surprises in store for this anniversary, in the West we will not sit idly by, especially if GKIDS is on our side.

As part of Ghibli Fest 2021, the human girl who crossed into the spirit world will be in theaters on October 3, 4 and 6, whose tickets are already in pre-sale through the official GKIDS page.
A esta se unirán éxitos como’Howl no Ugoku Shiro’ (‘Howl’s Moving Castle’),’Tenkuu no Shiro Laputa’ (‘Castle in the Sky’) y’Tonari no Totoro’ (‘My Neighbor Totoro’).
