Hard to believe, but Kingdom Hearts III was released about one year ago. This year, fans have Re Mind DLC to look forward to, which will shed some light on the new ending of the bittersweet game.
Before the January 23 launch of Re Mind DLC on PS4, the Plat Enix team sat down with the game's executive director, Tetsuya Nomura, to discuss his thoughts on the game, about his career, and what's coming.
Square Enix: 2019 has been a great year for you! Looking back at Kingdom Hearts III, which part of this game are you most proud of?
Tetsuya Nomura: Everything, as I couldn't put anything other than what I could stand behind with confidence. I did my best to give you all the different situations that could arise during development.
SE: Of all the boards resolved in Kingdom Hearts III, was it the most sensible thing for you?
TN: There are a lot of things that come to mind, but maybe Xigbar, because we spent so much time finding him where he is.
SE: The fans really seemed to love the revised footage of the characters on Kingdom Hearts III. Which of them are you most excited about?
TN: Each of them, I felt satisfied as soon as I finished painting, but after a while, I would finally think about what I would like to do differently next time.
SE: Back in April of 2019, you released a Critical Mode update, adding this high-difficulty mode to the game. Have you played Crazy Mode yourself, and are there any tips?
TN: By my power, I will never. Judging by the videos uploaded online, I think the player's game can provide more insight than I can give.
SE: Are there any important details on Kingdom Hearts III that you have never seen his fans find?
TN: If I were to say something like "who you really are," that would probably discourage people in the long run. So, I can't say anything specific, but sometimes I see definitions that make me think they can be extremely powerful.
SE: With Re Mind DLC launching tomorrow, what do you enjoy most about the players having there?
TN: I am always amazed at the descriptions of KH's followers, and I look forward to how they analyze things at this time.
SE: Finally, we have to ask… Which Keyblade would you like to find for yourself?
TN: Keyblade by Master Xehanort.
