In addition to the corresponding awards for the best of the year, The Game Awards becomes an unmissable event for video game fans thanks to its powerful advertisements. The Game Awards 2022 did not disappoint in this regard and we were able to enjoy several highly anticipated games that left a release date with a powerful trailer, as well as surprises. Below is a full list of the videos we liked the most, along with the most notable surprises.
Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon
From Software won the 2022 GOTY award for Elden Ring, and despite many thinking it’s time for a vacation, the Japanese studio is pushing ahead with new projects. In this case, they return to Armored Core with a sixth installment that promises to land in 2023 and has so far left us with an impressive first trailer.
Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Scores
It was only a matter of time before Guerrilla announced a content expansion for Horizon Forbidden West. Said and done. The game starring Aloy will have a new expansion called Burning Scores. Its launch is scheduled for next April on PlayStation 5.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty
Phantom Liberty is the first and big expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. After recovering from the bump that the game’s first few months caused due to technical issues and bugs, CD Projekt promises to give us a great experience with Phantom Liberty by 2023. Extension that has a spectacular trailer that stars none other than Idris Elba.
Diablo IV
Diablo IV already has a release date! Blizzard wanted to celebrate the news with all its fans by releasing an impressive trailer, something we are already used to from the first announcement. Of course, you will still have to wait until June 6, 2023 to take advantage of it.
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor
The sequel to one of the highest-rated Star Wars games will arrive in 2023. Until Jedi Survivor arrives on March 17, Respawn Entertainment is spicing up the anticipation with an action-packed and promising new trailer.
Death Stranding 2
It was one of the big surprises of the evening. Death Stranding 2 is already a reality and in keeping with what Hideo Kojima has accustomed us to, the video was edited by the Japanese creative. A trailer which, in addition and as usual, will give rise to all kinds of theories from fans.
Hades II
Hades II was another of the big surprises of the night. A “more and better” that surprised more than one but for the moment we do not know when it will be available. Of course, its first trailer made us want it for yesterday.
Judas
We continue with the announcements that left our mouths hanging open and Judas couldn’t miss that. The new game from Ken Levine, creator of Bioshock, clearly indicates that his next project is on the right track and with clear reminiscences of the shooter that marked the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 generation. A title that will be available on a date yet to be determined for Series X, PC and PS5; whose importance he also wanted to underline in the field of narrative.
Final Fantasy XVI
As they announced a few days ago, the guys from Square Enix didn’t want to miss The Game Awards with what is undoubtedly their most anticipated game: Final Fantasy XVI. Titled “Revenge”, the trailer shows us impressive battles and a soundtrack that is clearly on its way to becoming one of the brand’s best. The icing on the cake was its release date: June 22.
Baldur Gate 3
One of the most important Western RPGs returns. We are talking about Baldur’s Gate 3 and we could see it in a trailer that goes over some of its features, but also the return of old acquaintances like Minsc and Jaheira, two of the essential players in games developed by Bioware. The title also dropped a release date of August 2023, marking a key date for all Dungeons & Dragons fans out there.
