The first PlayStation 5 exclusives would leave PS4 players behind
We have recently told you about Microsoft's intentions with its releases for the next generation: at least during the first year of Xbox Series X, all exclusive games will also be compatible with the Xbox One family. Microsoft says that Do not want to disappoint players who have invested in an Xbox One recently and so it seems that it opens to a stage of transition between generations. However it seems that Sony will not follow the same strategy
According to the data handled by the well-known editor Jason Schreier of Kotaku, the first exclusive PlayStation 5 games would leave PS4 out of the equation, forcing a change of generation if we want to play them. Instead, as expected, the owners of a PS5 will be able to play the last PS4 exclusives that will arrive this year, such as Ghost of Tsushima or the highly anticipated The Last of Us Part II.
These are Schreier's words in Kotaku's latest podcast: "I've heard something about PS5's launch titles." "I won't say anything yet, since I will probably need some sort of confirmation about it in the future, but they will only be on PS5."
If Xbox X X and PS5 exclusive strategies are confirmed, the truth is that Sony and Microsoft would repeat the script already seen with PS4 and Xbox One. The first exclusive PS4, such as Killzone Shadow Fall or Infamous Second Son and left aside PS3 (the huge differences in architecture of both consoles also came into play). On the other hand, some of the first Xbox One exclusive (Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Forza Horizon 2) also supported Xbox 360 in the early years.
