Hi all! Last year we announced Endless Dungeon, Amplitude Studios’ upcoming rogue-lite tower defense dungeon robot (yes, that’s a mouthful), and the trailer and first gameplay previews have been released. greeted with great enthusiasm by a large number of people. We’re excited to see so many people eager to rally their teams and fight their way through an ancient space station to finally escape an endless loop of death and rebirth, but one question has been on everyone’s mind: how a game with this particular chain of gender descriptors works, and how do you rate the moment-to-moment action versus tactics and long-term planning? That’s why today we’re back with a new trailer shedding light on four basic rules for success in Endless Dungeon:
Rule 1: Know your enemies
The resort is inhabited by many creatures of all kinds of shapes and sizes. Some can be small and many, others large and imposing, but mostly they are all quite dangerous, so you would do well to stop them quickly. Whatever you are up against, you need to remember the strengths and weaknesses of your enemies and bring the right tools for the job.
A big cannon that shoots lightning might slice through tough robotic enemies, but it might not get so hot against the countless spooky caterpillars that swoop down at you. So when the swarm hits, you’d better put the lightning gun away and kill it with fire instead!
Rule 2: Defend Your Crystal
To unlock the secrets of this ancient space station and learn how to escape its endless cycle, you will need to power its systems with a mysterious object known only as the crystal. While the crystal is invaluable to your quest, it is unfortunately not very sturdy and attracts a lot of attention. You really don’t want a horde of monsters gnawing at him, but if you want to go somewhere in your exploration of this place, you really can’t stay and keep it. This is where turrets come in: since you can’t be everywhere at once, you’ll have to protect your crystal’s approaches with a variety of turrets, secure choke points, and plan a route to the next one. stage of your journey.
Rule 3: Check your friends
In a floating wreck filled with mysteries and monsters, it’s dangerous to go alone, so take some friends with you and never divide the party… unless you have to. Even keeping rule # 2 in mind, you may still need to cover multiple directions, so you can’t band together and deal with all threats together, but you still should but still have to keep an eye out. about your friends and how they are doing. Our heroes are exceptional individuals with a lot of experience, but even they just might not have the firepower to repel the assault, so be prepared to move and help in a pinch. Between your weapons and your abilities, focusing the attention of two or three heroes in one place is sure to help.
Rule 4: Adapt your squad
Even if you master the first three rules, there are still times when you risk failing, overwhelmed by waves of relentless enemies. At times like these the odds can seem overwhelming and you might be tempted to stop, but it might just be time to let one of your heroes take a break and rethink your team. Whether it’s raw firepower or survivability you need, another group of heroes just might bring the skills (and maybe synergies) you need to be successful.
We hope you enjoyed this brief rundown on how to survive, and maybe even thrive, in Endless Dungeon.
